Chinatown Art Night
Chinatown invites you to an open art night this Saturday, January 24, from 7-10pm. This event will mark the inaugural of the Chinatown Art Night, a quarterly event showcasing contemporary clothing, art, furniture, music and performance.

DOWNTOWN ART WALK
The Downtown Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour of the many art exhibition venues in Downtown Los Angeles -- commercial art galleries, museums, and non-profit arts venues. Public information and a printable pdf map of the Downtown Art Walk are available at www.downtownartwalk.com.

Two Free Art Walk shuttles move visitors around the Downtown Art Walk from 6-10 pm. Pickups and stops are available on demand -- just wave to the vehicle to stop or alert the driver to exit. The shuttle are vintage retrofitted 1940s school buses, and are hosted by Kim Cooper and Richard Schave of Esotouric, who curate them as moving performance venues. The north/south Gallery Row shuttle is called "The Hippodrome," and the east/west shuttle is called "Hazard's Pavilion." Many thanks to the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council for their generous sponsorship of the Hippodrome shuttle service, and Brookfield Properties for their generous sponsorship of Hazard's Pavilion.
The Downtown Art Walk is generously sponsored by the The Los Angeles Downtown News, Patina Restaurant Group, The Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council and the Historic Downtown Business Improvement District. Sponsoring area restaurants, bars, stores and services are also listed on the Art Walk map.
Visitors are encouraged to arrive by the abundant public transit network in Los Angeles, as the Art Walk is easily accessible by the Metro Red, Gold, and Blue line trains until midnight, scores of local buses, and many Rapid buses, some of which run until at least midnight. Parking is plentiful in the area, at meters on the street until 4 pm, and free after 6 pm on most streets. There is a sponsoring, indoor parking garage which offers a $5 flat rate and is open 24 hours (details on map). Once here, local LA City DASH buses are an easy way to get around for only 25˘ until 6 pm, and there is free, special evening shuttle service on Art Walk nights from 6-10 pm -- the exact routes are shown on the Art Walk map. Miracle Mile Art Walk
On the 3rd Saturday of each month, guests are invited to walk or ride between more than 40 participating art galleries. Transportation is available via the Metro, DASH and the Holly Trolley.

The Riverside Arts Walk on First Thursdays presents over twenty participating arts venues, art museums, galleries, and studiosóopen free to the public every month. These participating locations present an eclectic mix of visual art mediums and styles, in addition to special art/musical performances, exhibitions, tours, and art-making demonstrations.
Local restaurants and retail establishments along the Arts Walk also offer special menus and discounts.

1st Thursday is an evening of art and culture in downtown Santa Barbara. On the first Thursday of each month, participating galleries and other art-related venues will offer free access to art in a fun and social environment from 5-8 p.m. 1st Thursday venues will also provide additional attractions, such as art openings, live music, artists' receptions, lectures, wine tastings, and hands-on activities. In addition to gallery receptions, State Street will come alive on 1st Thursday with performances and interactive exhibits. Look for previews of forthcoming plays, symphony performances, concerts and dance productions, as well as local up-and-coming performers.
1st Thursday is for locals and visitors alike. It provides an opportunity for residents to indulge in local culture, mingle with neighbors, and participate in the arts community. The program also offers visitors the chance to experience, in one evening, the diversity of downtown Santa Barbara's visual and performing arts scene. 1st Thursday is aimed at developing a lively atmosphere downtown as well as showcasing the cultural variety that Santa Barbara has to offer.
As an added bonus, MTD shuttles will be available to help people move easily between galleries.
