About Angles Gallery
Angles Gallery was established in 1984 by David McAuliffe. Throughout twenty-three years of exhibitions, Angles Gallery has remained committed to contemporary art that emphasizes conceptual work by established as well as emerging artists, encompassing painting, sculpture, video, drawing, photography and installation. The gallery continues to develop its exhibition program with the introduction of young artists, as well as supporting the expanded exhibitions of the gallery artists exhibiting nationally and internationally. Programming includes two galleries located in Santa Monica.

This is the inaugural show in our new location at 2754 S. La Cienega Boulevard in Los Angeles and LaDuke’s fifth solo exhibition at Angles Gallery.
Tom LaDuke’s paintings start as extraordinary depictions of the projected and reflected spaces of the television screen in his studio; he then adds a third, non-illusionistic, layer of paint/space that abstracts fragments from conceptually related paintings from art history. As a completed piece, the viewer is able to look both in and at the object-ness of the painting.
